About

Marcin Boroch

Agentic Engineer, Cloud & FinOps Consultant

My professional journey

For over ten years, I have been working at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, databases, and business. Optimization has always fascinated me — whether it's SQL queries, AWS infrastructure costs, or company workflows.

My experience as a DBA (Database Administrator) taught me humility regarding performance. Working as a DevOps/SRE showed me how important automation and stability are. However, it is the combination of these roles with a financial perspective (FinOps) and modern AI technologies (Agentic Engineering) that allows me to deliver value today, which tangibly translates to my clients' bottom line.

I focus on pragmatism. I do not implement technology for the sake of technology. I analyze Return on Investment (ROI) and the real problems facing organizations. From small startups to large e-commerce systems — scalability and security are always my top priorities.

FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP)

Understanding cloud costs is essential. Thanks to the FOCP certification and my experience, I can reduce AWS/GCP/Azure expenses by up to 30% without performance loss.

Engineering Experience

For over a decade, I have served as DevOps, SRE, FinOps, and DBA. I understand the full spectrum from architecture to the data layer.

AI & Automation

I specialize in integrating Large Language Models (LLMs), building agents, and streamlining business processes using n8n, Make, and Python scripts.

Clients and Impact

Trusted in optimization and deployments

E-commerce API

Generated over $150,000 in savings in the AWS environment through infrastructural and architectural optimizations.

FinOps Framework

Implemented FinOps framework in an organization, enabling better cost allocation (showback/chargeback) and unlocking hidden cloud potential.

Migration to AWS Graviton

Increased database efficiency and reduced bills by 30% through an effective migration to ARM processors.

Database Tuning

Identified and resolved bottlenecks in MS SQL, PostgreSQL, and Redis environments for high-traffic projects.

Beyond project work

I believe that sharing knowledge builds a stronger IT industry. That is why I actively participate in community life, analyze the AI market, and advise on how to wisely use new tools.

Blog and Community

I regularly publish posts on my blog and run a newsletter on Substack. I share knowledge on implementing AI in business, cloud cost analysis, and automation. Join over 250 readers who receive a solid dose of engineering insights every week.

Education and Certifications

I hold the FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP) certification, which validates my knowledge of public cloud management from a financial and business perspective. I constantly develop my skills, testing the latest LLM models on their release day.
